Hello again!

Guess you wanted to know a little about me. Well, this shouldn't take too long. I'm Shirley (aka) ©WhisperingOwl in cyber space. I'm from Oklahoma, USA and have lived most of my life there. We live in central California, USA now.

Married ... yes (since 1967 to the same guy, you do the math)

Children ... yes (one son and raising our oldest grandson most of his life, he feels more like a son than grandson)

Grandkids ... yes

Pets ... yes (2 dogs now and 3 cats and a pond full of fish)

Love to create ... YES!!!

I bought my first computer in the Spring of 2000 and had more problems than you could shake a stick at with hard drives, actually went through 4 of them before I said enough was enough and bought my second computer. It was bigger and better. I spent a lot of time on the phone with computer tech's learning how to use a computer. I always asked what state they were located in and my calls covered many states in the USA, some calls even landed in other countries. One man in Colorado talked to me 3 different times and it's very unusual to get the same person twice, but the Colorado guy told me that I had learned in one year what most learn in five about computers and that I should just trust myself. It was a little scary but I did learn to trust what I was doing. I even surprised myself by helping out friends now and then and some had had computers much longer than I.

Learning about e-mail was fun and discovering IncrediMail made e-mailing a lot more fun!! I wanted to learn how to create beautiful stationery and all the fun ones too. So just by chance I found a group in Yahoo that was just fantastic. The folks in the group were very helpful in directing me toward a good graphic program and helping when I had questions. They all said everyone has to start somewhere. I stayed with that group until they decided to shut it down. I made some nice friends there and we still stay in touch.

For me graphic designing was just what I'd been looking for!! I love everything about it and the never ending possibilities it offers and there's always something new to learn. My grandson and one of his friends taught me how to use the Dreamweaver program and that's where I create my web pages. So with some help from others and no formal computer classes, I do what I love to do....
